Digital Excellence Purchases Multimedia Assets
Purchase enhances CD replication capacity and adds offset printing capability.
ST. PAUL — July 7, 2003 — Digital Excellence, a CD, DVD, video and audiocassette development, manufacturing, packaging and fulfillment company in St. Paul, Minnesota has purchased the assets making up the compact disc manufacturing business of Multimedia Reproduction Services, Inc., located near Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Indianapolis CD manufacturing facility has been re-opened under the Digital Excellence name and has an annual CD replicating capacity in excess of twenty-five million discs. The manufacturing operation also includes a fully-functional, state-of-the-art offset printing process, which produces a sharper photographic quality image on CDs and DVDs when compared to the traditional silk screen printing process.
Digital Excellence specializes in custom manufactured media projects. “We’re very pleased with our acquisition of this facility,” said Dick Stevens, President. “Its location in the Indianapolis area and the added manufacturing capacity are of benefit to a number of our customers. And our new four-color offset process means we now can imprint our CDs and DVDs using magazine-quality image resolution with greater surface coverage. We’re delighted to offer more graphic options and better value to our many media manufacturing clients.”
Founded in 1954, Digital Excellence offers CD, DVD, video and audiocassette duplication and packaging services to clients from coast to coast, including trade, educational, religious and technical publishers and marketers of spoken word and musical recordings and videos.
